I'm looking for info on two topics related to mining in Bolivia in
the early 1900s.
First, I'm looking for the personal papers, descendants, etc., of
Malcom Roberts, an 1890 Royal School of Mines graduate who worked in
Bolivia, chiefly for Aramayo, Francke & Cia., from the early 1890s through
perhaps the 1930s.
Second, any info, memoirs, etc., on the Cia. San Juan de Oro, a
gold-dredging operation in southern Bolivia in the early 1900s that was
financed on the London and Buenos Aires stock markets. The company
collapsed along about the 1910s amidst rumors its samples had been salted.
One of the company's dredge managers was an Englishman, A.G. Francis.
Many thanks. Dan Buck
