The new ListServ software allows for greater user involvement in the way
that the list is presented. Can I encourage members to look at the various
options open to list users. Go to the list page at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/mining-history.html and click on the page
link relating to 'joining, leaving and other options', there you can set
your personal options.
One option available is the use of a 'subject header' in the subject summary
for each list message you receive. Currently that is turned off by default,
so you recieve the subject summary as, for example -
Medieval lead trade.
Set the subject header and the summary will appear as -
mining-history: medieval lead trade
You might find that useful in categorising incoming messages,
differentiating between list and other incoming mail.
To set that option without going to the list web pages, send the following
message to <[log in to unmask]>
set mining-history SUBJecthdr
