I was refereing to a lack of such folklore in a mining context and just
warning people not to transfer similar traditions because they apear to fit.
All the clogs i have seen and i suspect many of those Mark has mentioned
would be in logical locations for both explanations. Foreheads are one place
where miners may be withdrawn at short notice, to be sent to work elsewhere,
hence the abandonment of tools and clogs.Areas behind roof falls are just
the same; an example of an un-planned abandonment. We could continue to
argue about this but without hard and fast evidence we are unlikeley to come
to a conclusion.
