Most people die in mines through a tangable reason. Any one can say ir was
becvause they whistled, or maybee they all wore red socks.
My father and myself have a combined 60 years underground and whistling is
common place within collieries.
Superstition and religion was used to keep the working population under the
thumb. So Keep your timber up and a good dreaught of air behind you! and
whistle whilst you work, After all it did those dwarfs no harm!
My dad used to be a semi pro singer and once got wronged off Tessy O Shea
for whistling in the dressing rooms as it was bad luck. She is now dead, and
my dad aint yet, so so much for that theory.
