Twentieth Century Military Archaeology
A day school to be held at Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford
Saturday 21st October 2000
"The military remains of the twentieth century are now seen as an integral
part of our heritage. Amateur and professional archaeologists and military
enthusiasts are working together to provide a detailed analysis of how these
sites functioned as well as seeking to discover what remains of them.
This day school presents examples of projects focused on the analysis of
twentieth century military remains in Britain, using documentary,
photographic and physical evidence for sites ranging from pillboxes, through
anti-aircraft sites, to airfields and military camps"
