We are pleased to offer up to ten grants to cover registration,
accommodation, and subsistence (value approximately 400 pounds) to assist
younger scholars in the field of festival and court studies who otherwise
might not be able to attend this prestigious event. In addition to having
the opportunity to hear papers delivered by senior scholars in the field,
recipients of these bursaries also will have the opportunity to
participate in a Younger Scholars Forum in which they discuss their own
work on festival.
Applications are invited from scholars who are thirty-five years of age or
younger. It is expected that applicants either will be well-advanced in
their doctoral research or at the post-doctoral level. Preference may be
given to E.U. passport-holders, but persons of all nationality will be
considered. To apply, please send a copy of your curriculum vitae and an
abstract (no longer than 600 words) of the talk you would like to give at
the Younger Scholars Forum to the following address no later than 17 April
2000:
