The Museum of London Information Resources Section has a vacancy for an
Archaeology Systems Officer, to develop and implement an information access
system for the London Archaeological Archive and Research Centre (LAARC).
This is a one-year contract, based at the Museum and starting in January
2001. The Officer will work closely with other staff to develop the system,
including assessing user needs and using database and web technologies to
design appropriate environments for staff, research and public users. This
will result in a significant extension to a preliminary Web resource
launched in March 2000.
Applicants must be educated to degree level. A relevant post-graduate
qualification is also desirable. You will already have practical experience
of developing archaeological or museum information systems, including Web
systems and museum and/or archaeological database systems.
Salary commences at £20,000 pa inc.
