Support services for MODES Users
================================
Through its contract with Jennifer Hirsh (MODES Services), the MODES
Users Association ensures the on-going provision of support and training
for its membership (over 800 museum and archive professionals) in the
use of MODES for Windows and Catalist for Windows cataloguing software.
Jennifer is to retire in March 2001, and the MUA wishes to invite
proposals from interested parties to provide the following core
services:
- Support for all users: help to users (verbal, written), day and
weekend meetings / workshops, data rescue and transfer, dispatch of
software upgrades;
- Tailor made support: start up and consultancy days for individual
users;
- Development and delivery of training courses;
- Recruitment and management of the MODES Support Team
Administrative and developmental support to the MUA is an additional
(discretionary) service. The provider will have an exclusive license to
charge an annual support fee, and use the MODES name, in return for the
provision of these services. Additional income may be raised from
chargeable services.
