EU business information sources you may have missed...

There are many general sources of information about the European Union
but tracking down relevant business sources can be complex and
time-consuming. Information from primary sources such as the Official
Journal can be difficult to find and indigestible, especially when
time is pressing. It is easy to miss `niche' secondary sources which
could give you that competitive edge.

In just one day out of the office, you can locate `hard to find'
legislative summaries, contacts and industry-specific analyses, and
discover the best hard copy and electronic sources of business
     information.

     Who Should Attend
This one day course, based on business sources in the British Library,
will enable those with some knowledge of European Union information to
extend that knowledge, ensuring that apparently obscure but genuinely
useful sources have not been overlooked in the quest for data. It will
also be helpful for those just beginning in European information.

     The Speakers
The course leader is Ros Cotton, Senior Information Officer in the
British Library Business Information Service. She will be assisted by
Ian Thomson, Manager of the European Documentation Centre at Cardiff
University, Editor of European Access and European Access Plus,
Executive Editor of Know Europe, President of the European Information
     Association.

Venue: The British Library, St Pancras, London NW1.

     Date: Friday 18th February 2000.

     Start time 9.30 am.

Fee £190 + VAT (£223.25 inclusive) including lunch and refreshments.
     Enquiries: Maureen Heath
     Tel 020 7412 7470
     Fax 020 7412 7947.

     Bookings Policy
If you have made a booking to attend a course and something happens to
prevent you attending, please notify Maureen Heath. If you are able to
send someone else in your place or if you let us know more than ten
working days in advance no cancellation charges will apply. Other
cancellations, or late transfers to another date, are charged as
follows: Cancellation received within 10 working days of the course
50% of the fee; within 7 working days of the course 75% of the course
fee; within 5 working days of the course 100% of the course fee.
Working days are Monday to Friday inclusive. The British Library
reserves the right to cancel courses up to and including the date of
the course if insufficient bookings have been received. Delegates will
be notified and an alternative date will be offered or the course fee
refunded in full. The Library also reserves the right to make changes
to the programme. If a course has to be cancelled at the last moment
for other reasons outside the control of the British Library, the fees
will be refunded in total but the British Library cannot be held
liable for any other expenses incurred by delegates or their
     organisations due to the cancellation.
