The following is an extract from a letter recently received from Hilda Pearson
(widow of the late Professor J.D.Pearson):-
"Jim has left me his First Edition of the Encyclopaedia of Islam comprising
four large volumes and supplement, all bound with illustrations in gold on
the covers, and since I no longer have any need of this, I would be willing
to pass it on to any librarian or scholar who could make use of it. If you
know of anyone who would like to have this, please let me know."
I am therefore inviting LIS-Middle-East subscribers who are librarians and/or
scholars to apply for this. Unless it is collected from Cambridge, the
recipient will have to bear the cost of postage and packing.
