Dear Andreas
I cannot provide details of further holdings of Habl al-matin at present,
but it may be helpful to you and others to know that the UK Research
Support Libraries Programme (RSLP) Mapping Asia Project will be gathering
detailed information about UK holdings of newspapers (in any language,
alive or dead) published in Asia (including Middle East and North Africa)
and disseminating this information via the Web. We shall of course be
including the OIOC/other relevant BL holdings. One of our aims also is
to identify which titles have been microfilmed, and where there are loan
copies in the UK. The Mapping Asia project started in February 2000 and
will run till July 2002, so we would hope during 2001 to be able to help
with enquiries before the full public mounting of the data in 2002.
I realise that this will be of no immediate help to your two researchers -
apologies for this, but maybe this information provides some hope for the
future.
For everyone's information, the Mapping Asia project will also be gathering
descriptions of UK library collections on Asia, and making this information
available on the Web.
Best wishes
Lesley Forbes
