Related to recent discussions about guidelines, I have produced an A4 checklist for people wanting to search for guidelines. It encourages the use of evidence-based sources and I would be interested in comments/suggestions for improvements. If anyone would like to use the handout, please acknowledge the source. GUIDELINES CHECKLIST
The principle behind this checklist is that your approach to searching for guidelines should:
- begin with evidence-based/clinically effective guidelines
- before doing/requesting primary searches on MEDLINE, CINAHL etc
