We are looking for a full-time assistant librarian to cover the end of a period
of maternity leave. The post is initially available for four months and pays
around £17,000/year pro rata including London weighting. A professional library
or information qualification is vital and experience in a medical library would
be an advantage.
Ideally, we would like someone who can help support our Medline Plus service,
which is based on Ovid software, and we would also like someone at home with IT
and, especially, the web.
However, we are looking to appoint someone immediately and this background is
not essential. If you have medical library experience and are a competent
reference librarian we would be pleased to hear from you. To talk about the job
please call Jane Rowlands on 020 7383 6737, preferably by the end of this week.
There are no application forms, so if you just want to send us your cv please do
so to [log in to unmask] It's not exactly a case of first come, first served
but there is a sense of urgecy about this so if you're interested ring Jane,
look at our web pages on the BMA site and email in your cv to
[log in to unmask] as quick as you like.
