Several people have said the link didn't work. In the copy of the
message that I got, the URL had wrapped around to the next line so it may
do it again. If so, you may have to type it in to get it to work, but if
you use the complete URL the article is there. Here is the link with the
font reduced, so I hope that it will work this time.

Subject: Scanners - Summary
Well, first off I want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my
e-mail.
I got some very helpful information.
By far the most popular scanner was Fujitsu ScanPartner 15C ($850.00).
Next in line was the Fujitsu 3093 ($3,750) or the Fujitsu 3906 (again in
the $3,500 range). One person suggested the Minolta PS7000 (estimated
price of $15,000) very top of the line Several folks commented that they
are using the Hewlett Packard ScanJet 6350Cse ($500.00) .
Our IT folks here liked the Fujitsu products and the HP received high
marks also. Most likely for our use we will start out the the HP and the
Adobe Acrobat Writer software.
Hope this helps some of you out there considering this technology!

Subject: mammogram calcifications
One of the radiologists here told me that three women patients have
recently shown him a clipping from Parade Magazine (the "magazine" that
comes in many Sunday newspapers). It claims that calcifications on
mammograms may be a sign of coronary artery disease. We cannot find any
reference to this anywhere. Does anyone have a clue as to when this was
published, or where the original study was published? That's what we
ultimately want to find--the original study.
The radiologist said "The clipping looked recent." By that, it sounds like
he means it wasn't all scrunched up.
I have poked around for quite a while, to no avail. Contacting Parade was
not fruitful.
Thanks for all your help.

Jeannine and all: Regarding the Parade article it is a quote from the July
15th issue of the American Journal of Cardiology on breast arterial
calcification which you probably have in your collection. Dale
