Dear all,
We urgently need a copy of the article below (see abstract), or at least
the reference, which is from the British Journal of Infection Control. We
think it is from the first issue of 2000. Sorry not to have more details,
but we are unable to obtain the journal from the BL or BMA, and Ulrich's
does not list it, not is it indexed on Medline.
"The Role of the Medical Devices Agency
Dr Helen Glenister. Nursing Director, MDA
Introduction
Medical devices are the tools of trade for nurses, doctors and other health
care professionals. With some there is a risk of infection if they are not
used and managed correctly. Others are used to diagnose, treat, prevent or
alleviate infection. The Medical Devices Agency (MDA), an executive agency
of the Department of Health undertakes a number of activities to help
safeguard the interests of both patients and users of medical devices. It
can be a resource for infection control practitioners. The number and scope
of medical devices used in the health sector are likely to increase as
technology develops. Some will have infection implications. It is
important that infection control teams, and other health professionals work
together with MDA to promote medical device safety."
Many thanks.
