Libraries exist to meet the information, leisure and
educational needs of all sections of the community.
The Burning issues Group is an organisation in liaison
with the Library Association working towards improving
and maintaining quality library services for lesbian
and gay people.
It has teamed up with the London aspect at South Bank
University to present a training day about LGB
resources on the web and is open to any library or
information worker to attend.
You do not have to be lesbian or gay yourself to
attend.
This training day will re-inforce ITC skills and
introduce participants to the wide range of quality
LGB resources on the Internet.

Content
the first half of the programme looks at how the web
informs and connects special interest groups. you will
learn how to search effectively using indexes,
directories and gateways. you will be shown how to
access forums and communities - chat, email lists and
newsgroups.
The second half of the programme looks at LGB
resources on the web including government, legal,
demographics, health, medical and nutrition, business
and commerce, leisure, travel and entertainment
information.
Cost - £125.00 (concessions £100)
