* To enable participants to stand back from their day to day work and
assist them in working well under pressure
* To give practical help in dealing with difficult situations with users
and colleagues, deciding priories, balancing pressure and performance and
keeping ourselves up to date
* To allow an exchange of ideas and expertise across a range of
different services
* To encourage the preparation of plans for future action
