you to visit the Library of the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, 4pm
Wednesday 25th October.
The Henry Moore Institute is a unique resource devoted exclusively to
sculpture, with a programme comprising Exhibitions, Collections and
Research. The centre was established by the Henry Moore Foundation as a
partnership with Leeds City Council in 1982.
The reference library covers all periods and types of sculpture. The Library
currently contains approximately 17,000 printed items which comprise
monographs, limited editions, artists' books, exhibition catalogues,
dissertations, pamphlets and periodicals and many rare and unique items.
Relevant databases, such as the Artists' Papers Register, are also
available. Ephemeral material such as leaflets, private view cards and press
cuttings is also available for consultation in the artists' and information
files. There is a slide collection currently holding about 30,000 images,
and a collection of about 200 videos. It also houses the National Sound
Archive's Artists' Lives project of recorded interviews with sculptors.
