Part-time Administrator
(17.5 hours per week)
£17,500 - £18,000 p.a. pro-rata Central London
'Lives of the Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons of England'
This new post, under the direction of the College Librarian, is an
interesting opportunity for someone with senior secretarial experience,
preferably gained in an academic or medical setting. Key responsibilities
include:
* Providing full administrative assistance in the production,
publishing and sale of the 'Lives of the Fellows', including entering
biographical information into databases and compiling a single name index to
previous volumes;
* Servicing the 'Lives' committee;
* Editorial checking of biographical details and assisting with basic
research to ensure the accuracy of names, dates, qualifications etc.
Applicants must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills, be
highly computer literate and able to work to publishing deadlines with
meticulous accuracy. The ability to work as part of a team is also
essential. Experience in publishing and an interest in medical history
would be an advantage.
