The Trust provides postgraduate training in the field of mental health
and provides outpatient multi-disciplinary services for adults,
adolescents and children and their families. The work of this
internationally known centre also includes research and consultation to
professionals in other centres. The Trust invites applications for the
following posts:
LIBRARY ASSISTANT - 1 year initially
Salary Scale: £14,771 - £17,404 p.a. inclusive
The duties of this post holder will be varied and include: issue desk
duties; liaising with the Copyright Licensing Agency over the
establishment of an Electronic Reserves System; offering administrative
support to the new Learning Support and Training Officer and assisting
with the Inter Library Loans. The post holder should be prepared to
work at least one late night each week and some Saturday mornings
during term-time, with time off in lieu.
Candidates should be educated at least up to 'A' level standard.
Previous experience of working in an medical/academic library would be
an advantage but is not essential. The job is highly suitable for
someone wanting to gain some experience before going to Library School
and could be a job share.
ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN/LEARNING SUPPORT AND TRAINING
Salary Scale: £20,649 - £23,749 p.a. inclusive
The Trust is seeking to appoint an Assistant Librarian with
responsibility for learning support and training. Duties will include:
running workshops and training courses in the use of bibliographic
databases and the new library catalogue, conducting library
inductions, devising web-based packages for staff and students and
staffing the issue/enquiry desks.
Previous experience of working in a medical/academic library would be an
advantage but is not essential. Previous experience in delivering
training is desirable.
The post holder should be prepared to work at least one late night each
week and some Saturday mornings during term-time, with time off in
lieu.
