Apologies for cross posting
The University of Northumbria at Newcastle has recently secured funding from
the Joint Information Systems Committee Communication and Information
Strategy Steering Group to undertake a project investigating the links
between higher education and the National Health Service. Kathryn Ray from
the School of Information Studies is the Project Officer and Graham Walton
from Information Services is the Project Manager
The focus of this project is to identify the most effective processes that
enable part-time post-registration nursing students to have access to
electronic information services. The areas of investigation will be both the
registration process for these students as well as the skills and knowledge
levels of this group of students in exploiting the electronic services.
The purpose of this email is to ask colleagues to let me know how other
university libraries are managing the registration process for this large
group of students, many of who register for short courses over a number of
years. We are also interested in how other university libraries are ensuring
post-registration nursing students have the necessary skills to make
effective use of electronic information services.
I will summarise the results and provide feedback to the lists.
Kathryn Ray
