Library Systems Officer - Library Services (ref PID 32000)
We require an IT professional with a working background in Unix or NT to be
responsible for the smooth migration of user and bibliographic data from a
variety of sources into the Aleph library management system. Some
experience with database management systems (eg Oracle) would be an advantage.
The post also has responsibility for day-to-day management of Windows
terminal server OPAC devices and native NT workstations.
You must have a first degree and some experience with a new generation
library management system, You should be able to prioritise work, work
independently when required and demonstrate excellent written and oral
communication skills.
A qualification in librarianship is not required but the successful
candidate will be required to familiarise him or herself in some detail
with library practice. The salary will be in the range £18,420 - £26,613
