      Offers a variety of publications exploring the social
      aspects of computerisation (social informatics). Covers
      aspects of the digital economy, computers in the work
      place, and systems development. Additional information is

      Society, where contents, abstracts, and selected full text
      articles are available.
 Global Population Project
      Provides demographic information for countries, their
      administrative areas, cities, and towns, arranged
      alphabetically by country name. General statistics relating
      to world population and images of each country's national
      flag are also available.
 US Census Bureau State and County Quick Facts
      Offers access to the most frequently requested US Census
      Bureau information at national, state, and county level.
      Presented in tabular form, the data illustrates facts about
      the people, business, and geography of a particular area.
      At state level, these statistics are presented alongside
      the corresponding national figures, while county-level
      statistics can be compared with state data.
 Documenting a Democracy: Australia's Story
      Collection of documents tracing the development of
      democracy in Australia. Specific information relating to
      the Commonwealth, Western Australia, the Northern

      OECD report considering the existence of a new economy
      based on technological developments. Addresses growth
      issues in the US, which is seen as demonstrating the

      there are clear signs of a restructuring in the US economy,
      there is no evidence to support claims of the death of the
      traditional business cycle, or the potential for unlimited

 CIM: Copyright Resources on the Internet
      Annotated listing of copyright resources, with a particular

 Electronic Government Services for the 21st Century
      Report examining the potential of electronic delivery of
      government services, and proposing a strategy to achieve

 World Development Report 2000/2001: Attacking Poverty
      World bank report arguing that major reductions in global
      poverty are achievable, but will require an approach which

      empowerment, and security. The report is complemented by a

      discussions on the draft of the report.

      Collection of links to resources regarding trade to and
      from India. A directory of Indian importers is featured,
      together with listings of exporters from India and
      overseas. Also provides information on global transport and
      cargo movement, and a listing of the top 1000 Indian
      companies.
 San Francisco Cable Car Museum
      Traces the origin and development of the cable car, first
      tested by Andrew Smith Hallidie in 1873, discussing its
      importance to San Francisco and its value today. Describes
      the mechanism of the cable car, explaining how it is
      powered, how it stops, and how different cables are able to
      cross. Includes pictures of historical cars, a time line of

 Julia Child: Lessons with Master Chefs
      Extensive collection of recipes accompanied by a series of

 Dance Page

 C.S. Lewis: 20th-Century Christian Knight
      Extensive guide to resources covering the life and work of
      C.S. Lewis. Information includes specific Web pages
      dedicated to The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as a variety
      of critical and theoretical writings exploring Lewis's
      religious beliefs and influences inherent in his work.
      Additional material comprises private documents and
      resources on similar fantasy and mythic writers such as
      J.R.R. Tolkien and George MacDonald.
 Reading Wilde, Querying Spaces: An Exhibition Commemorating the
 100th Anniversary of the Trials of Oscar Wilde
      Digitized version of the exhibition commemorating the 100th

 Gale Group's Free Resources
      Collection of cultural information comprising biographies,
      music, timelines, quizzes, and historical data. Topics
      include Hispanic-American and African-American heritage,
      feminist studies, poetry, and literature.
 Athena Review: Journal of Archaeology, History, and Exploration
      Issues offer articles, images, and maps which examine
      paleoanthropology, palaeontology, recent archaeological
      finds throughout the world, plant domestication, and remote
      sensing. A guide to archaeology resources on the Internet
      also features.
 Holocaust Heroes
      Set of articles seeking to promote the heroic actions of
      religious institutions and individuals who rescued and
      sheltered Jewish refugees during World War II.
 Holocaust History Project
      Collection of primary and secondary material addressing
      many issues relating to the holocaust. Covers topics
      including the Nazi propaganda film Der Ewige Jude, and
      offers essays and translations of original documents
      relating to Auschwitz. Also addresses the debate over
      holocaust denial literature.
 Virtual Library History - Holocaust Resources
      Educational resource concentrating on the persecution of
      the Jewish people prior to and during World War II.

 National Archives of Ireland
