Dear colleagues,
An undergraduate course at the University are planning peer group induction next academic year. This will involve small groups of students of up to 3 people showing each other, a part of the Learning Centre services. For example; the web page, the CD-ROM network or printed sources. Has anyone else had experience of managing this exercisein the past? If so, please could suggest the pitfalls and the advantages of using this technique. How for instance, do you measure the impact of "adopting" students to cascade this information to their peer group? Is this part of a general approach to induction or is does it occurr on a course by course basis?
I look forward to receiving your thoughts and will gladly produce a summary for the list.
