BL Chaser Team would like to respond to the comments below by
clarifying that it is not a REQUIREMENT to keep the stock number of
the item to be able to renew it.Although it is something they would
like customers to do wherever possible.

It's actually not too difficult to find the DSC shelfmark (someone,
please tell us if this is the same as the stock number?). It's listed
on OPAC97 as clear as clear. So it's not necessary to keep an
note of the shelfmarks of all loans.
