I am currently collaborating with staff at our new Community University of
the Valleys outreach centre in Tredegar to develop an effective and
efficient library service.
The small library will not have access to our library management system for
issueing/discharging etc..purposes. However, the items will be
ordered/classified/catalogued on our system! (Don't ask!)
The service will be primarily for tutors, as student resources will be
available from local public libraries.
Does anyone have any experience of using a standalone circulation system,
if so any recommendations gratefully received. A colleague and I thought
perhaps an Access database might be suitable, if finances are limited.
Any thoughts?
Alison
