I assume you're using Talis.
Talis have provided some guidelines.
The convention for 859 is:
859 0 40 *u<A HREF
="http://www.ingenta.com/journals/browse/bpl/ahis">Connect to journal</A>
The problem however, is that very long URLs break when viewed on OPAC, and
therefore the hyperlink does not function. The trend now therefore, is to
use a local 856 to record the URL e.g.
a856 0 40 *uhttp://www.ingenta.com/journals/browse/bpl/ahis
You can get this to display on OPAC, and use the Talis hotlink feature to
connect directly to your electronic journal.
