Details of forthcoming IFM Healthcare Study Day
Up to standard?
The NHS Performance Assessment Framework
Thursday 15 June 2000
University of York, Heslington, York
Are you interested in quality and performance within the NHS? Are
you responsible for monitoring and improving the standards of
care?
The NHS Performance Assessment Framework was introduced in
April 1999 as part of the move towards assessing performance in
the NHS. It aims to assist the NHS in improving the health of the
population, and providing better care and outcomes by encouraging
quality and efficiency across six areas. It will also be used to
assess how the NHS is carrying out this work, and encourage
benchmarking between similar organisations.
Aimed at health service managers, health care professionals and
health information professionals, this study day will provide a
greater understanding on the use and implementation of the
Performance Assessment Framework from a range of perspectives.
Chair and introduction:
* Merlin Wilce: Leeds Metropolitan University
Speakers:
* Jo Bibby: NHS Executive, Leeds
* John Sargent: NHS Executive North West and Trafford Healthcare
NHS Trust
* Elaine Rodger: Sunderland North Primary Care Group
* Russell Manion: Centre for Health Economics, University of York
An afternoon workshop led by John Sargent will involve identifying
indicators on the six areas of the framework
The cost of the study day (inclusive of lunch and refreshments) is
£45 + VAT for members of IFM Healthcare, £55 + VAT for others,
£60 + VAT for the study day and membership of IFM Healthcare for
2000. Places for the study day are limited, so early booking is
recommended. The closing date for booking is 8th June 2000.
