Subject: NeLH update
Dear All
It's been some time since I've mailed you with news from the NeLH team. So here goes...
Pilot website
A pilot website will be launched in November 2000, with content and functionality reflecting the progress we've made in the last year. It won't be the 'full thing' but it should provide a service while allowing us to learn more about the environment in which the NeLH is to be deployed.
We are very excited about the pilot. It will:
- create a package of services
- deliver them as part of the overall NHS library service
- offer a platform for testing new NHSwide services such as access management and table of contents services
The service components of the launch include a mixture of licenced databases, specially developed sections, and links to good quality resources.
NB The items below will be introduced either at the launch or as soon as possible afterwards.
Licenced services
- Cochrane Library
- Clinical Evidence (probably!)
Special sections
- provided by the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination and Bandolier, and some written by ourselves.
- access to the BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities) database on a trial basis
Links
- to various, including BNF, table of contents services, free eJournals, etcetera
