National Prescribing Centre: Information Specialist

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Information Specialist to join our team. Working with pharmacists, doctors, other professionals and administrative staff, your role will be to efficiently manage the information needs of the NPC. This will include managing a reference system,managing electronic and paper subscriptions, literature searching, critical appraisal, summarising and data checking, together with supporting the development of the NPC website.
You must have a postgraduate qualification in library/information science and be a chartered member of the Library Association with a minimum of two years experience in a biomedical library or similar environment. You must also be skilled in searching the medical literature, be numerate, computer literate and have a keen interest in evidence-based health care. A science degree would be an advantage and familiarity with the medical literature is essential, as critical appraisal is an important part of the role.
