Linda,
Having read all the correspondence about this on lis-medical at the end of last year, I took it upon myself to write and cancel our account - even though I had not heard anything from them. They did not reply to my letter. I hope that I, too, am not about to receive a bill. However, I will be ready to do battle if they do send one as I don't think that they can legitimately charge if they haven't notified users of changes in their accounting procedures (as, eg. with the British Library)
I'll be interested to know how you go on.
Regards
Christine

Subject: Knight-Ridder
Help! Is anyone else in this situation? I am being stung by Knight-Ridder
for L456. They have invoiced me for L100 administration charge and L356
upfront usage. Apparently I should have cancelled in October but I haven't
received anything from them before about the charging proposals. I spent
about L25 on it last year and my Standing Order with Knight Ridder covers
1/4/99 to 31/3/00 based on "pay as you go" principles.
