News from The Netherlands
- The Netherlands have declared an EEZ. Details about the boundary, which
outer limit coincidences with that of the continental shelf, can be found in
"Staatsblad 2000 167" of April 27th 2000.
- There has been an exchange of territory between the Netherlands and
Belgium in the channel from Terneuzen to Gent near Sas van Gent. Details
about the new boundary can be found in "Tractatenblad 1993/nr. 91".
- News about the maritime boundary near St. Maarten, quoting from the
Antillian Newspaper Amigoe of June 9, 2000 (translated from Dutch): "Dutch
and French politicians agreed Thursday about the maritime boundary West of
St. Maarten. The delegation will meet later on this year to talk about the
boundary East of the island, especially near St. Barths and surrounding
islands." And further: "When the negotiations are finalised, a treaty
between the two governments will be made."
