I read Fin's comments with interest, and wondered if I could ask people on
the list for a favour.
>The success of this is connected with the issue of integration
>and how the materials are actually used. This argues for close collaboration
>between "teachers" and "developers" but not just at a level of consultation
>re a particular application or the decision whether or not to incorporate it
>into a given educational setting. As educators we need a minimum level of
>understanding and appreciation of the opportunities/ threats/possible
>functionality of such applications so we can construct a wish list.
This is of great relevance to a bit of research I'm currently doing on who
controls curriculum development work in the context of distance learning.
At present, I'm trying to get hold of "snap shot" case studies of how this
sort of work is carried out - particularly in terms of participants'
responsibilities.
If any of you could spare 5 minutes to complete and return (post or email)
the questionnaire that's up at...
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~uczamao/practice/lt.doc
...I'd be extremely grateful.
Many thanks,
Martin
