RESEARCH ASSOCIATE:
GIS AND SPATIAL ANALYSIS (THE GEOGRAPHY OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS)
Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in the
School of Environmental Sciences (rated 5*). The post is available for
three years from 1 October to work on the geographical distribution of
serious and fatal road traffic accidents in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire,
England, with Dr Andy Jones, Dr Robin Haynes, and Professor Ian Harvey.
The successful candidate will have good organisational skills and the
ability to work independently. At least a good honours degree in geography,
environmental sciences, statistics or a related discipline is required,
together with experience of the ARC/INFO GIS package and the statistical
analysis of spatial data. Postgraduate research experience, particularly
with Poisson regression and multilevel modelling, would be an advantage,
although further training will be provided.
Salary will be on the Research and Analogous 1B salary scale in the range
£16,286 to £18,185 (under review).
