IT Service Unit of Salisbury District Council require:
GIS Business Analyst
Salary £19,101 + Market Forces Supplement of £4158 Per Annum.
Applications are invited for the post of Geographical Information Systems
Business Analyst, within the Council's IT Service Unit.
This role involves taking responsibility for, and supporting the corporate
roll out and implementation of, the Authority's Geographical Information
System (which is based around the Innogistic 'Cartology' GIS product).
In addition the duties of the post will include the provision of help and
support to those Service Units across the Authority who are currently using
integrated GIS systems, or may in the future wish to integrate their
application systems with GIS. Responsibilities will also include provision
of general business related IT support, as well as responsibility for
systems administration of the Cartology system.
Currently the Development Services Service Unit are the major users of the
system, and the role is, therefore, presently based within their offices in
Wyndham Road, Salisbury.
You must have the ability to work independently, have good communication
skills and be results/delivery focussed. Experience of GIS systems would be
an advantage, as would more general IT experience, including Windows NT, the
development of MS Access databases and SQL etc. Experience in planning and
implementing IT projects is also desirable, but not essential.
