Sue Macmillan has just posted a message to let you know about a new
post in geomagnetism that has opened up at BGS. Allow me to bring the
others to your attention.
Most of you are aware that BGS has been through a period of
retrenchment and reorganisation over the last year or so. Amongst
other outcomes, this has led to identification of the skills and
capabilities that the Survey will need in the future, and in response
to that identification, the Director has authorised a round of 'new
blood' recruitment across a range of disciplines. The posts are based
at both Keyworth (Nottingham) and Edinburgh. There are a number of
posts available in the geophysics area, many but by no means all of
them involving seismic interpretation skills. There are also posts in
geotechnics, hydrogeology and geochemistry.
These posts are likely to be of interest to recent graduates and those
about to graduate, as well as those with practical experience of
applying their skills. I would ask those of you involved in teaching
to bring them to the attention of your students.
Full details of all the posts are available at
