A reminder about the Annual General Meeting of the Mineral Deposits
Studies Group, which this year is being held in early January at
Durham University as part of the much larger Mineralogical Society
Winter Conference.
The main deadline (1st November) is fast-approaching and so far I
have been distinctly 'underwhelmed' by all those offers of
presentations (talks and posters)! So please, if you are interested
in our annual get-together, then do the following:
1) Register for the meeting using the form on the meeting web site:
http://www.dur.ac.uk/VMSG.Minsoc2001/
2) Consider giving a talk or presenting a poster. Let ME (as MDSG
convenor) know if this is the case.
3) Consider going on the field trip arranged by Richard Lord to
investigate mine drainage remediation in the local area. See
Richard's site for more details:
http://www.sci.sunderland.ac.uk/mdsgft.htm
4) Although the main conference will be holding a grand banquet in
the castle you may (in addition!) wish for a more informal MDSG
'bash' in a local restaurant. Let me know if interested.
I await your expressions of interest to come flooding in!
