I wonder if there is the equivalent of a "locking trigger guard" for
a reply button?
I agree with Bruce and Brian. For example, the recent and ongoing
"Cl/OH partitioning" thread has made interesting reading. However,
the contemporaneous "image analyser program" thread is less exciting
and some replies to it were not even topical. My suggestion is not
original, but may help. In the case of information requests, I
suggest that everyone always reply only to the source of the inquiry
(not the list). I would then suggest that the initiator of the thread
summarize his or her replies and post them to the list as a small
repayment for receiving free information.
