To those in the eastern half of the United States,
Our Department here at the University of Maine is putting together new rock
preparation facilities. I found a great supplier of equipment called Diamond
Pacific, but they are located in California and so shipping costs to Maine
are going to be large. I have failed to find a serious supplier of rock
saws, coolants, laps, etc in the eastern USA. Does anyone out there know of
such a supplier?
Something we will want to periodically replace is our saw coolant. Diamond
Pacific sells a product called "Rock-Oil", which is a food-grade mineral oil
that is non-toxic, non-hazerdous and non-flamable under "normal" conditions.
Shipping 55 gallon drums of this stuff out of California is expensive, and
so I wonder if anyone back east knows of a coolant supplier? What do you use
in your big saws?
Please respond directly to me.
Thank you for your help.
Scott
