I wonder if any list members might be able to help with this request? If
yes, please reply to [log in to unmask] My own suggestions for where
to look for additional information are as follows (but I'm certainly no
expert on this subject):
**Databases**
Lots of references retrieved for Bosnia and PTSD but not for the more
specific search on Bosnia and SCL 90.
Medline thru. MD Choice - http://www.mdchoice.com/medline.asp (user friendly
search engine that allows you to enter natural language query, e.g., >>have
Bosnians been tested for PTSD using SCL 90<<)
PILOTS Database -
http://dciswww.dartmouth.edu:50080/cgi-bin/dcis/wdi?&Alexandria.Dartmouth.ED
U&51001&PILOTS%20Catalog&s (allows you to search for references by
"instrument" field, among others; unfortunately, my search on >>bosnia<< in
Allindexes and >>symptom 90<< in instruments produced no hits, but there are
references to "symptom checklist 90" used in other contexts)
PubMed thru. the National Library of Medicine -
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed (enter >>bosnia* and ptsd<< for numerous
hits; unfortunately, no hits retrieved when search is conducted for
>>bosnia* and scl 90 or symptom checklist<<; however, you will retrieve
results if you search on >>ptsd and scl 90<<)
**Research**
I had somewhat better luck with two web search engines, Altavista and
Google. It might be worth trying out other search engines (see list at
http://www.searchenginewatch.com/links).
International Symposium on Torture -
http://www.irct.org/Symposium99/abstracts24_28.htm (scroll down for the
abstract entitled TORTURE AS A CHALLENGE TO THE MEDICAL AND OTHER HEALTH
PROFESSIONS - INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR VICTIMS OF TORTURE; refers to
study of Bosnian refugees for which SCL-90 was one instrument used)
Flight Paths: Returnees from Outside Former Yugoslavia, Internally Displaced
Persons, and Stayers in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, 1999 -
http://www.paed.uni-muenchen.de/mip/KLIN/powell/wwwdocs/EpiESE.htm (survey
conducted for the German government; one of the authors works on the
Munich - Bosnia-Herzegovina Psychology Program at the University of Munich;
his web page is at
http://www.paed.uni-muenchen.de/mip/KLIN/powell/wwwdocs/main.htm)
**Journals**
Journal of Traumatic Stress - http://www.istss.org/Pubs/pubs.html (tables of
contents only)
PTSD Research Quarterly - http://www.ncptsd.org/research/rq/rq_list.html
(full-text)
Traumatic StressPoints Newsletter - http://www.istss.org/Pubs/pubs.html
(full-text)

Dear Elisa Mason,
My name is Nora Spiritovic and I am from Bosnia and Hercegovina. I am
studying psychology and now I am writting master thesis in Charles
University in Prague. I am writing about psychological health of Bosnian
refugees. I would like to ask you if you have some information about testing
Bosnian population with SCL - 90 psychological test (testing posttraumatic
stress disorder) because I need norms for Bosnian population that I could
not find. It would by very helpful for me.
Yours sincerely
Nora
