In reply to Ed's question, I wonder whether we should be thinking about
'FISHEU'? I am currently involved in an European funded project under the
Interreg IIC scheme, to assess and hopefully network information sytems in
use across Kent, Essex, Holland, Nord Pas de Calais (France) and Belgium. We
are agreed that shared terminology is crucial but of course we have the
added issue of different languages between and, in at least case, within the
partner countries. Does anyone know what steps, if any, are being taken at a
European level to address this kind of networking?

" In effect can we take this development as the start of a move
from FISHEN (the Forum on Information Standards in Heritage
*England*) to
FISHUK? Any thoughts?"
