Dear all,
I am trying to carry out Pushover Analyses of offshore structures using
ABAQUS/AQUA. This involves factoring-up the wave and current forces
from their initial 100-year values until collapse occurs. This is being
done in order to determine the RSR (Reserve Strength Ratio) of the
structure.
ABAQUS/AQUA is unable to establish a stable solution at a higher load
factor after the formation of a fully plastic section. This indicates
that load cannot be successfully shed to adjacent members in the
structure. Hence the conditions for structural collapse appear to
depend on the strength of a single memeber.
ABAQUS/AQUA has the facility to model wave loading in a static analyses
- but is it possible to extract these forces from the 100yr storm and
then re-apply them in a conventional static analyses.
If there is anybody who can offer me advice on this matter, your help
will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Gage Grewal.
