Hi,

I've written a 2D density-based code using a combined Delaunay/Advanced
front method for use in geotechnical engineering (so has certain extra
features), and after the time and effort spent in writing that, decided
that I'd rather get a freeware/shareware code for 3D instead of writing it
! However I haven't managed to find a 3D code (not just for geotechnical
engineering, but ANY general mesh generator) that allows me to specify
density sizes hi at various points i (rather than a density function across
a region). An example of density data would be :
x1 y1 h1
x2 y2 h2
x3 y3 h3 ... etc

where hi would be the diameter of a circumsphere containing the tetrahedral
if tetrahedra were used (or an alternative definition for hexahedra) at
different points (xi, yi) in the mesh. The sizes hi for the new elements
are generated based on a previous mesh (at the centre of each element to
comprise the data file above).

Does anyone know of the existence of such a mesh generator (either
tetrahedra or hexahedra generator) ?

Many Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Ashraf

PS Freeware and/or shareware would be great, otherwise commercial software
with educational prices would be fine.
