Hi everyone,
I am modelling temperature dependant thermal strain in Abaqus. Simple as it gets. Abaqus tells me
in the manuals it calculates thermal strain by
eth = alpha*(T-To) - alpha*(Ti - To)
where alpha is thermal expansion, T is current temperatre, To is a reference temperature for
temperature dependant expansion and Ti is initial tmerpature. This reduces to
eth = alpha*(T-Ti)
as you'd expect. But if I plot it in Post I get the same strains as if they are calculated by
eth = alpha*T
Does anyone know what's going on.
Ti = 625 and To = 20 in my model and all other temperatures are lower than Ti and greater than To.
