The third EXCHANGE conference and Online Exhibition will be held on 2 and 3 November 2000 
at the Watershed Media Centre, Bristol, UK.

This event will enable participants to explore current debates, learn about funding 
opportunities, report on work in progress and join in discussions about the future of 
research in art, media and design.

Online Exhibition
The Online Exhibition will be on view from Friday 20 October until Friday 3 November. 
This will be a virtual gallery of a range of webworks from American and European artists. 


Conference Themes
The presentations will cover the diversity of current research in art, media and design 
including drawing, printmaking, textiles, stained glass, performance, film, photography 
and digital art. All will address issues of

*   work in progress
*   emerging PhD programmes and recent PhD outcomes
*   the development and rationale of research centres
*   use of the digital as 'medium' and 'tool'
*   electronic publications
*   digital resources for research
*   the relationship of theory to practice
*   methodological concerns within art, media and design 
    research.

Keynote and invited speakers
Susan Collins, David Sinden, Prof. Penny Florence, 
Prof.Kun Pyo-Lee, Paul Brown and Chris Rust will be 
speaking on research and practice in art and design and the 
challenge of exhibiting outcomes in new media across the 
field.
