Well, he _probably_ could have been a bit more diplomatic, but as one who
spent 30+ years with a state environmental regulatory agency -- many of
those years dealing with various more-or-less radical NGOs like G'peace and
Earth First! and more traditional organizations such as Audubon and (now
traditional) Sierra, there is a definite need for rock-the-boat
organizations like Greenpeace and Earth First! They get the stodgy,
science-oriented, very conservative agency people (and traditional
e-organizations) angry and thinking.
