Actually, I am sure if the US did take a nose dive, economies would
have negative growth as an affect, for a while. Then other countries would in
effect pick up the slack after this negative slide. Tis the way economics
work.
But of course, if this happened I wonder if the precautionary principle
was ever used in the first place, and what caused such dives, and fallouts.
Actually Steve B. the example I was thinking of in use of PP came
from the UK, originally. If you check the laws you will find the PP
was used by ICB (international council of bioethics), in determining,
the use of genetic crops over there. Some have argued that the
PP was to extreme, others have argued not extreme enough.
But I assume that varies, with sides pro-con.
