As one of the most powerful regulators within the world, the Environment Agency has the formidable responsibility of protecting and enhancing the environment in England and Wales. Our remit encompases pollution prevention and control of air land and water, flood defence and the management of water resources.
We now have a varied and challenging opportunity for an individual who really wants to make a practical and positive contribution to protecting the evironment. As a key member of the Environment Planning Team, you will be on hand to share in, monitor and ensure that consistent scientific and technical support is available to both internal and external customers.
In particular you will be responsible for environmental risk assessment, site investigation interpretation, landfill containment engineering and the provision of specialist geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical advice. You will also make a valuable contribution to scientific policy.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and with around 5 years relevant experience, you will ideally hold corporate mebership of a relevant professional body and/or a higher degree.
As you will be liaising across a wide spectrum of internal and external customers, exceptional interpersonla skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships are essential.
