This is an update of the earlier announcement about the next in the
series of 4-day continuing education COURSES ON GEOTECHNICAL
INSTRUMENTATION, to be held at a hotel “on the beach” in Florida on
March 12-15, 2001.
RALPH PECK will present a lecture “Observation, Instrumentation, Action
– Chicago in the 30s to San Francisco in the 90s”. He will also
participate in a discussion on “People Issues with Observation and
Instrumentation”, and will be at the course throughout the four days
This UNIQUE course includes presentations by users of geotechnical
instrumentation from USA, England, Canada, France and Germany, in
addition to technical presentations by major manufacturers in USA and
Canada.
Emphasis will be given to obtaining high quality data to help answer
specific geotechnical questions. In addition to time for questions and
discussion during the first three days, an optional fourth day will be
entirely for discussion. Project types will include braced excavations,
embankments on soft ground, embankment dams, tunnels and deep
foundations.
