We are having a visit at York from Lisa Murray, a PhD student from
Australia, who is completing research on New South Wales cemeteries in
the nineteenth century. We think this is a good opportunity to hold a
very informal day on which we can talk about cemeteries. This message
calls for expressions of interest from anyone researching cemeteries in
the modern period. Papers are welcome, and papers from
postgraduate-level students are especially welcome. It is envisaged that
the day will be stuctured around perhaps half a dozen papers, but much
of the time will be spent discussing a range of themes/topics to be
decided by the participants. There will be no charge to attend, and the
day will be held at the King's Manor, University of York.
